Village of Hope School
is a non-profit organization founded by Carol and Jim Herget. Her goal was to provide educational opportunities and basic health care to the community of Ganthier, a rural community east of Port Au Prince.  The thirty acre campus consists of nine buildings which house the classrooms, the new Health Center, a kitchen, dining hall, assembly hall, chapel, showers and toilets, administrative offices and storage facilities on 30 acres of land.  The campus has ample space for educational and religious activities for the 640 students, all of whom have access to a mid day meal and Heath care. All have been built by a combination of local funding and labor, along with Village of Hope funds and work groups.

Forty new 3 year olds are enrolled each year: 20 girls and 20 boys. Many of them will be educated at VOH until Grade 13. National Exams are given at Grades 6, 9, 12 and 13 and the VOH Students score higher than the National Average.
